I was moved to use the art that I had created for the book, for my bookmark. There was a long poem on the back pages of the accordion book; I re-wrote a shorter condensed version. Each small bookmark one has a hole punched at the top and a multi-colored string looped through it.
I have put the bookmarks inside books at the library, left them at our Central Market in downtown Lancaster, put them on the counter at local coffee houses and passed them out to friends.
However the message is spread, it’s really the message that is the important thing – to let others know about Al-Mutanabbi Street, and how we can learn to live together on this planet on this long journey to a peaceful co-existence.
